The correct way to watch Fate is simple: start with the Epic of Gilgamesh, then move on to Mesopotamian myths about Tiamat, follow that with Homer and Greek epics, then the Eddas, the Carolingian tales of Roland, the Arthurian cycle, Irish sagas, Japanese mythology — and only after that should you touch the anime.
