I think this depends on where in the US one resides. I’m in the Northeast and I pronounce several of the examples the English way. The southern accent though is a whole other ball game! Who knows where any of that originated? Are there parts of the UK where the words sound similar to the US south??

we use both pronunciations of address, but one is a noun and one is a verb. ADdress is a noun, where a place is located. adDRESS is a verb, like you're giving attention to someone or something.

address depends on the way it's used. if it's a verb, we say it like the english way. a noun is the other way. same generally with detail. emphasis on second syllable is a verb, emphasis on first syllable is a noun. similarly: present, desert, etc
