@common.whit: Moments like this make me proud to be from the South—people pulling over for my grandfather’s funeral procession out of pure respect. It meant so much. #southernpride #smalltown #respect #gonebutnotforgotten #gonebutnotforgotten
i accidentally cut off a funeral procession when i was first learning to drive and i cried over it for 30 minutes i felt so bad

I’m sorry but funerals on a crowded highway when everyone has work I don’t mean to be disrespectful but people live paycheck to paycheck we can’t be late

Is it considered disrespectful to keep driving? We keep it moving where I’m from

Born and raised Appalachian for almost 30 years, moved to a big city in the Midwest a few years ago. I tried to do this on a non busy non main road, and I got cussed out. It broke my heart and confused me, I thought everyone in every state did it..

I’m scared I wouldn’t be able to tell it’s a procession and be so confused and worried why everyone is moving 😭😂

When my grandfather passed we had people cutting into the procession line. His funeral was in a larger city and my aunts funeral in my small hometown we had cops blocking intersections and not a single car didn’t pull over. It was so nice to see other people still having respect so soon after what happened with my grandfathers funeral.

I remember when I saw people pulling over during my grandma’s procession and put their hands over their hearts. It was so touching. I can’t explain how much love I felt from complete strangers.

I swear they never taught us this in drivers ed so I remember I cut them off but quickly got into the other lane bc they were driving slow and had their hazard lights on but I thought it was strange so I looked it up 😭

I'm from the north and it is the completely normal thing here to pull over for a funeral procession. Not just a southern thing.

I was in my grandfathers funeral procession in north Georgia and it’s stunning how literally every car stopped. Appalachian people are just so wonderful and respectful

Back in Jan of 2023 we were escorting my passed grandpa w cop cars and everyone moved out the way and stopped. I didn’t understand why then but I do now. It’s comforting knowing people care even if it’s just a stranger.
