Richard III, the last Plantagenet King of England, whilst leading a deadly cavalry charge against Henry Tudor, killed his standard-bearer, Sir William Brandon, and knocked the gigantic Sir John Cheyne, a noted jousting champion, clean off his horse. Richard came within a sword's length of Tudor, that day becoming a god-like warrior that had Henry trembling and cowarding behind his French mercenaries. Richard became overwhelmed by enemy forces, including fresh troops from Lord Thomas Stanley who charged and surrounded Richard, betraying him and committing high treason against the King at the Battle of Bosworth Field.
