The first row should take you as long as it should take to make it perfectly level. After that it should go so quickly without really leveling anything since the first level is level.

given you're going straight, put pipes wider than your block, screed it and repeat. you'll barely have to hammer the blocks. 2 guys should be able to do hundreds of ft per day

run a long string line and you can set a twig in middle and you can knock some out even if your slow. do a 20ft spand put twig at 10ft.

speed is not really key when doing base row. being right is important once you get close to 3/4 have a guy drop back and start stacking and the wall will fly up. be almost up by the time you finish base. that's how I do it anyway

that’s medium pace we did a 4 foot tall 100 foot long 3 guys one day an that was 75 pound cinder fited blocks so they had to be perfect to fit the it together the right way and it had a bend
