@lifewithoutyou2024: Two years ago today, my siblings and I had the conversation no one is ever ready for—the one about hospice for my mom. Her cancer had spread so much that the doctors told my dad there was nothing more they could do. They could try one more round of chemo, but there were no guarantees. And if she chose chemo again, hospice wouldn’t be an option. Mom had already been here before. She had stopped chemo once, and we knew what that meant—when chemo stops, the cancer grows. So we talked. All of us—my siblings, my dad, and me—about what we felt was best for Mom. But more than anything, we knew it had to be her decision. She had to agree with whatever was decided. My dad asked me to go to the hospital with him—for support, for strength, for reassurance. At first, he couldn’t do it. He was terrified. Scared of saying the words out loud. Scared of breaking her heart… and his own. When he finally found the courage and told her, she quietly said she already knew. Deep down, she knew. She said she was ready to go meet Jesus. I can still see it so clearly—my dad gently running his hand through her hair, praying over her, asking God to give her peace and comfort in her final days. It was completely heartbreaking. The kind of moment that knocks the air out of you and feels like a punch straight to the gut. Those were the moments leading up to the very end of my mom’s life. And even two years later, my heart still feels every second of it. 🤍 #cancersucks #hospice #greifjourney #lettinggo #fyp

We brought my mom home with hospice yesterday. She has advanced frontal temporal dementia. She’s been in a facility for four months. We decided we can do better. She’s home , peaceful and comfortable. No feeding tube, no preventative meds. Just comfort meds. I must say it was the right decision. She’s been so much calmer and at peace. We know her days are numbered. But we are with her in this journey every minute.

May she rest in the arms of our Savior- Jesus Christ. My heart hurts for you, though I still have my mother. My grandfather was like this for me. I’m here when you need someone to lean on. 💜

We lost my mom a little over two and a half years ago…cancer. It sometimes feels like a long time ago and other times it feels like it wasn’t that long. Seeing this made me cry…which i needed. Much love to you and your family ❤️❤️

My mom passed 2 years ago from cancer. Hearing those words no more they can do broke my heart in a million pieces. Life as I knew it would never be the same. My heart breaks more everyday. I miss her so much (my best friend). I know she is at peace. But I miss her 🥹

I’m so sorry. I’m coming up on 3 years where we made that same decision. She was in hospice for exactly 3 weeks. I hate January. But that being said. She was ready to meet Jesus and my dad and brother and all those who went before her. It’s the only thing that gave me peace. Hugs internet friend!

In October of last year, I had to help my dad make the decision to place my mom on Hospice. She was in end stage Alzheimer’s after an 8 year battle, 25 days later she left this life for the next. Such a difficult decision ❤

The hardest but purest form of love is letting them know it’s ok to move on. It still cry thinking of it. But they are no longer hurting.

This is what marriage means. It’s not the fancy celebration day or only the good times. It’s being there for one another when times are the hardest. To be the support and the partner that shows up knowing the outcome will shatter you into a million pieces and yet you accept this burden so the other doesn’t have to bare it alone. Bless you family and especially your father. That was someone who kept his vows 🙏💓
