Gabapentin was one of the drugs mis-marketed for the treatment of chronic pain. Despite having no ability to relieve pain quacks continue to prescribe it as it was never removed from the market after the guilty plea. Its side effects of seizures, double vision, and death should have black box warnings. The DEA's constant harassment of pain management doctors has left chronic pain suffers to self treat often leading them to the black market where a single tainted dose with fentanyl can be fatal. Pfizer and the DEA are driving the fentanyl overdose epidemic and they know it.
