Mom with daughter was in the right. He made clear threats to harm both of them. I would have taken action too and I have a 6 year old son and another on the way; plus a 10 year old bonus son.

As someone with mental health issues ( I'm manic depressant Bipolar ) My actions during a manic episode does NOT excuse me from the consequences. If I go off the deep end and do things that self harm or harm others, I'm still at fault. Family and close friends know about my chemical imbalance but to strangers ... it is ridiculous to expect that strangers will automatically know something mentally is wrong. That mother was doing everything in her power to keep her child and herself safe. It's horrible and unfortunate that his mental illness cost him his life because he really did need help instead of being unalived however that doesn't give him a clear pass for being off the rails, threatening other people without consequences. especially when they aren't aware of his mental state. To her, he was someone with a huge road rage problem making threats and showing signs he was going to carry out said threats
