This is why people pay a premium to live downtown. Your time is money

Renee :
I actually never understand when people reverse commute with metra, like do you work right by the metra station or do you uber once you get off the train..?

I also work in the suburbs and live in the city— people look at me like i’m crazy but reverse commuting like that is soo much faster than people think. Like i promise not everyone is going to Downers Grove at 7:30AM😆

The commute is so worth not having the road rage and focus required for driving

I did the reverse commute for 2 ½ years. I actually miss my time on the train. I read so many books lol 😂 and I didn’t have to worry about traffic on 90! 😖 I miss the conductors the most!

As someone living in the burbs whenever I go out I spend a minimum $50 on Ubers because I don’t want to take the redline late. there are wins and losses to both parts :)

Yes but a reverse commute on a quiet clean train beats getting angry and anxious from morning/afternoon traffic any day. Literally gives me sanity and “me time”

work in the suburbs and wish I could do the metra but my car cuts the commute time in half, lucky to have hrs not peak 9-5

I commuted from the burbs for 10 years, moved to the city, only to get a job back in my hometown and reversed commuted for another 3 lol I clocked in at the same #metrawarriors

Yup. Mine was taking me about 2:40 each day. It was brutal. So I started working from home more often. Then COVID happened so we all were remote. Then I just never went back when the office opened again.

I’m opposite! Live in the burbs, work in the city 😩 but I wouldn’t have it any other way, Metra and I are like this 🤞!… but anything is better than sitting in mind-numbing traffic

I did the reverse commute for 16 months. I found 5 different podcasts that dropped each day of the week and I still read a book a week on the train.

Used to reverse commute on Metra and people looked at me crazy when I said it was 3 hrs round trip on a GOOD day. I’ll forever miss the empty trains tho bc now I have to fight for my life to get on the CTA
