We went for a conference in Dubai, and I had a lady friend from Ethiopia who was part of our team. She suggested that we go for dinner at an African restaurant called Kiza in DIFC. When we arrived at the restaurant, she pleaded with me to allow her friend from Nigeria to join us. The Nigerian guy joined our table, and during our conversation, the Ethiopian lady brought up the jollof rice debate. She asked, “Between Ghanaian jollof and Nigerian jollof, which one is better?” The Nigerian guy jokingly replied that he could not even feed Ghanaian foods to his dogs, let alone eat it himself. The lady immediately shut him down, telling him that his comment was very rude and uncalled for. I didn’t say anything. Then the guy asked me if am angry for he was just joking. I also jokingly replied him that I’m not angry because i knew he is a Nigerian and he got very very angry. He said I insulted him😀. Nigeria needs a behavioral reset
