Fontaine is racist because it is writen to be as such because it depicts a real problem in france in the modern era and victorian era (roughly the XVth centruy to the XIXth century) of racism and colonial attitudes. Natlan and by extension Sumeru because it has the same problem are racist because mihoyo straight up carcaturised one of the cultures the region was based on and gave the chars skintones i would expect tp see only in nord krai and shneznaya

Nod Krai like Fontaine has npcs with random words in languages (like the guy called Limppu which is a type of bread, standing and selling bread 😭) and then this new guy is called Lohen (damn SALMON) I giggled so hard at his name bro + the stereotype of there being bunch of criminals 💔

Ce qui m'a toujours buté avec Fontaine, c'est que les "pauvres" vivent dans les égoûts ou des ruines. Si Fontaine c'est Paris, les gens dans les égoûts, ce sont des rats du coup 💀 P.S. : et y a des quêtes qui incluent des Fontainois à Natlan, mais genre... Ils traitent les "Natlanois (?)" de sauvages - comme la quête avec les teintures là. Ça va pas bien dans leur tête en fait 💀💀
