It’s funny how we hated it while we were in. Then you lose everyone you bonded with.

I’m retired GWOT OIF OEF. Although my life is great, the thoughts & memories still remain. My experience was great but it came with great sadness & loss. Keep pushing brother. It does get easier.

Depends how long you were in, can’t expect to get over something that took 8 years learning in 3 years.

As much as I want out every once in awhile Ill think too hard about it and get sad. I don’t even know what I’ll do when all this is just memories.

Dude I’m comparing myself to others I’ve talked to, game with, and my own father. I’ve been told “hey man, you served. Be proud of that.” But at the same time I feel unfulfilled due to my one and done being blueballed, and when I tried to go to the Air Force they also blueballed me for a year. I’m just gonna use my GI Bill and commission at this point. I wanna make it right

It doesn’t. Just keep calling your old buds and talking with them as much as you can, because every year is different bro…

I don’t think you ever stop. You just learn to live with the circumstances of who you become after and use those memories as lessons

Never you just become more quiet about it and then it will totally escape you. It’ll be there but it won’t affect you

Start by writing down your own tasks everyday on a white board (something you can easily erase). It’s helped me with some anxiety and the feeling humor having no purpose.
