I watched some videos this morning and had no idea how steep it was until I seen a locals pov recovering her body she fell twice apparently it was the 2nd fall that killed her and most videos do not do it justice on how far down and vertical it was think anyone would probably 💀 such a sad case just a young girl trying to enjoy her life and had to die in that horrible away.

A lot of people who have done this climb made videos after her death saying that tour guides tout the trip as an easy climb and it’s actually really difficult. Some said that they worried they might not have made it back alive and that it really shouldn’t be sold to people who aren’t experienced climbers. Apparently the sandy terrain you mention, is deadly.

Usually, if someone isn’t rescued, there’s a solid reason why and I’m sure there’s a reason why they didn’t throw rope with the harness down. But I have wondered why they didn’t let a drone take a harness with rope on it and a note telling her to put it on and pull/rappel her up. Or someone rappel down to her to rappel her up? Considering I have rappelled down crazier mountains than this. And I have known about recovery’s and rescues of the same. I’m just thinking it might’ve been due to the lack of resources and such a remote area. Because mountaineers do far worse, I climb, I know. And what I read the Indonesian government claimed it was too foggy/misty and high risk of landslide. However, it could have been done with the right rescuers and resources. That is the sad part. RIP.

Why didn’t the drone drop off a walkie to her so she could at least communicate? The drone couldn’t have dropped off water? I just don’t understand how they couldn’t have gotten to her and that amount of time.
