Anytime you get pulled over whether you think you did something or not it’s still considered a traffic stop. Which means you have to provide your identification regardless. I mean how hard is it to follow lawful commands. Last month I got pulled over for forgetting to renew my plates and my license but only by 2 weeks. Because I gave my identification and did not argue he only cited me for my tags but gave me a break on renewing my license as long as I promised to go straight to BMV to get it. Which I did. It was a simple traffic stop and the most of $145 citation due to following lawful commands. It’s not hard.
