as both a veteran and a dv survivor, I will say that the war i fought inside my home was much more traumatic (FOR ME) than the one I volunteered for. sleeping next to my enemy knowing that he could and would end not only my life but my child's STILL haunts me but I'm supposed to be over it by now.
