A company called Burroughs Wellcome was facing a crisis in their financial department and in a desperate attempt to see a financial return on their investment research product, what we now know as acyclovir, they marketed and advertised hsv2 in a negative way and thus created the stigma. The company actively knew providers would not bother investing in this product because the body naturally suppresses the virus (hsv1 and hsv2) I’m helping to spread awareness so people living with this know it’s not their fault we’re living with a stigma created by corporate greed
