The thing ar older trucks is most brokers wont work with you. And I know someone gonna jump in and say we dont need brokers. But a lot of shippers wont work with older trucks either. But I do agree with you on the older trucks

I bought a truck sight unseen, only had the word of the owner, ended up being a pretty good truck, until the dpf decided to clog, needless to say it lost some weight after that. 🤣

On buying used truck note, how's Stickless, the TMC Pete doing? Friend of mine is looking at picking up a few of them.

Get a 90’s model FLD with a Detroit and make some money. Worked for me. I’m way ahead on profit vs. price and upkeep

Stick to a 12.7 check fluids in rears trans oil and coolant if all check out run it long enough to get it hot and look how bad the blowby is and as long as it isn’t pushing too much pressure take it home and still end up building it 🤣 thats how my last 2 have gone

Another thing I have done is if they well take it or let you take it to a reputable shop to do a pre purchase inspection do it. Specially the new stuff . The shop can hook up a computer and give you a lot of details including if there is any odometer discrepancies

Also if they say something has been replaced or rebuilt and they don’t have paperwork then it never happened

Old trucks are where it’s at! So so SO much comes down to maintenance. A guy who loved new trucks is a guy who loved to skip maintenance.

if I knew what I know now. 99 Pete with air leaf and Eaton 404 rears, trans RTLO18913, DDEC 4 12.7. That is the cheapest to maintain most reliable platform for starting out. Any older and you run into insurance issues and non abs
