Avalokite (Guanyin) was originally a man not a woman, but since they have been widely worshipped in China for their motherly love many people would assume they are female. Nowadays Avalokite is referred to as a (genderless) supreme being with their vow to save all creatures from suffering. I had them at my family’s altar together with our ancestors 💕they truly saved us so many times 🎀
