Haha there are 2 prerequisites for owning one. 1. You have the money to pay for maintenance 2. You’re a car guy. Everyone else will complain about the cost or go broke after buying one.

There’s a reason most of us with exotic cars buy the factory diagnostic software. One thing about exotics… especially with McLaren and Ferrari… the sensors are extremely sensitive. They are not designed to overlook minor blips, which every day drivers are. Because of this, you see way more CEL’s. 95% of these CEL’s can simply be cleared and overlooked. A cheap OBD code reader can clear the majority. But the factory software will allow you to read a bit deeper to make sure you can just clear it. Also, do not take your exotic to the dealer unless you’re under warranty. The large majority of the dealers are going to hit you for bs extras. Find a good exotic guy if you don’t work on your own cars. Make sure the techs are all car guys. Look at the parking lot and at the tech’s vehicles. That will tell you a lot.
