@rideorrot: Replying to @Beware1906 there’s a fine like between being too much as a salesman and showing a good expierence! #dealership #saleslife #rideorrot #realtalk #harleydavidson
It’s The hounding through phone calls that pissed me off. I went into my local dealership to look at a specific used bike that was listed on their website, but apparently not in the store. They called me twice a week for months.

Timms in Augusta, Ga. Has great people and they never hound me. They ask me one time how I’m doing and if I’m interested. I usually just go to the parts counter and browse through the bikes

I popped into that dealership once on my way to homecoming, you still worked there. I was just using the bathroom and grabbing a poker chip but multiple people said hello, and complimented my pipes. Overall a good experience. I was clear that I was just taking a break and that was respected

I remember you.👍🏽 Yes, check in with me to see if I need anything. If I say that I am just killing time and looking around, it’s okay if they say “Let me know if you have any questions” and go back to whatever.

my dealership does not do that. in fact, when I wanted to look at a bike I had to go ask a sales person for help. they were there watching to see if I was serious or just looking. they didn't ignore me. have since bought 4 bikes from them.. and the service dept is the best..

I have been in multiple dealerships looking for my new bike and have left multiple dealerships because I was not acknowledged. This also happened when I went to purchase parts and service so I left and found a place that treated me like I was human not someone who doesn't fit the part of a Harley rider. I have also been harassed by customers who were in a club because I was looking for my new bike. the dealership didn't care so I left them as well

pretty much every dealership is the same and it obnoxious, I get their job is to sell bikes but it's notice a car dealership where that's pretty much the only thing ppl want when they walk in the showroom

A big difference between walking into a dealership and sales people saying hello or welcome to so and so dealership, and being completely ignored. I have gone into different dealerships and have been totally ignored, and the next person coming in after me was greeted like a long lost friend. The only difference being I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, the other person was dressed like a yuppie. When I am made to feel like my money is not as good as the other person, I don't buy anything.
