@ultimateivyleagueguide: The most COMMON mistake that gets students rejected from their dream college is not knowing how to answer school-specific essays ⬇️ Here’s how each answer differs: ❌Rejected Student: Nothing here explains why NYU specifically, why this student, or how NYC connects to their lived experiences or goals. Admissions can swap “NYU” with 50 other schools and lose nothing. ⚠️Waitlisted student: This shows awareness of NYU’s setting, but the motivation stays abstract. “Internships,” “real-world experiences,” and “interdisciplinary” are signals of interest, but NYU still doesn’t know who this student is or what they’ll actually do. ✅ Accepted student: This answer connects past → present → future: • Past: a concrete, personal experience tied to NYU • Present: a clear academic direction aligned with NYU • Future: a specific way the student intends to engage with the school’s environment When you write school-specific essays, don’t explain why the school is impressive…explain why your story would unfold differently there than anywhere else. 📕DM me ESSAY to my Instagram @UltimateIvyLeagueGuide and I’ll send you my full guide to crafting standout responses to get into your dream school! #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG
