Sooooo true. As a south Asian girl, a lot of the times we girls have parents who don’t feed into actually complimenting us or telling us that we are beautiful so we don’t go out looking or feeling pretty which then creates low confidence and then creates this sense of not being able to find a decent husband either bc of the overall low self esteem. I think it’s just because these parents want us to feel humbled so we go for sh*t men that they recommend to us for arrange marriage. I think it’s some sort of deep rooted jealousy/manipulation. Then yes, a lot of girls do go out and jump onto the first guy and even marry him bc he might just say she is pretty.
