@thinkingcanine: Training without conflict dog trainer Dylan Jones’ terrible advice caused this dog to get lost during a training session with him! Rather than take responsibility and try to get this poor dog back before he starved or froze, he was posting offensive memes and videos that just furthered his narrative of being a savior. He didn’t post anything about this dog being lost… not his lost posters, not videos begging for community help. So much could have been done and instead this dog is likely frozen starved and gone. And this is all clear as day on social media for all to see.
A trainer that is OK with a flexi leash especially on a dog over 20 pounds is not a trainer

I trained a feral dog about 10yrs ago. He was adopted by an old elderly man that never owned a dog before. The dog bit him the first day multiple times. I advised him to leave his garage open to the house so the dog could use the bathroom in the garage on pads. We let him drag a leash around for 3 days after 3 days I had the man pick up the leash and immediately put it down as often as possible throughout the day. Then after 3 days of that I had him Tae the leash and walk a few steps put it down. Baby steps and trust was built. This dog ended up being so incredibly trained and absolutely loved his owner. The owner absolutely loved him. For me this was one of my favorite training memories over 27yrs.

Was a Dog trainer for 10 years….. never in a million years would I put a flexi on a prong. I knew better at 18 when I started training full time. :/

Also if the dog was a foster, there should be a rescue group searching for this dog. This is around me, I wish I knew the name of the dog.

Frankly, if the dog is alive, i am willing to bet actual money that it is 10x happier wherever he is now, than with those people

The flexi leash prong collar combo is such a dumb idea even with a chill dog, wtf was the logic

I don't understand why people don't take precautions for this exact scenario. Slip leads are so accessible and need to be on fearful dogs for this exact reason. The prong isn't even properly fitted!

So sad. I foster failed a feral dog and I would never leash walk him until I felt he was ready for it which took 2yrs. He is 8yrs old now. So many wrong things happening with this poor dog.

Prong collars are NOT for fearful dogs. They are designed to help with dogs that pull.

First of all I know next to nothing and I know a prong collar and a retractable leash do not go together.
