The signatories are Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. This was signed in 1985, not sure if there's a newer agreement.

I'm from Indonesia and really want to rent a motorbike in Bangkok. But I'm afraid because I don't know which roads are allowed for motorbike and which are not. Is it safe to just follow Google Maps' directions for motorbikes?

In 2017 my convoy was stopped by police in Mukdahan district and they ask to show him if we have international license. So if lucky the police will follow the law. If not lucky, corruption by police. Just share my experience.

im from asean with all license class, no problem in phuket, got fined in nakhon sawan. end of the day = depending on the police in that province. what they say = the law. You are thai, you have power to argue. We foreigner, no power to argue. I just do IDP even thought im not required to, cause im too lazy to argue with your police officers.

Hi! Thank you for the information, do you have any information in Thai language regarding this matter? So if I got stop by the police, it is easier for me to do the explanation, since most Thai police don’t speak English 😂

That's interesting. So if I have a Thai license I can also drive in the Philippines? But why are countries like Vietnam and Cambodia missing?

David Sullivan :
this is true as if you look at the back of your driver's license it'll have a little picture of what you can drive for example car or motorbike. however I will be honest most police officers that will pull you over in Asean don't know about this law.
