I've believed in organ donation. We were so sad that we weren't able to donate my son's organs but because of the cancer that just wasn't possible. The only thing we were able to donate were his corneas. It takes a special person to think about others when they're going through the worst pain imaginable.

My sweet husband just died on 12/12/25 and he donated his organs and tissue. So far he has giving two women the gift of sight via cornea transplant. That’s all I know so far. Here he is in better times

My eldest son lost his 3yr battle with cancer a few months ago, he donated his body to a university for cancer research, and his corneas were also donated to help someone see. I'm very proud of his decision. He didn't want anyone else to go through his battle.

My dad died of a brain aneurysm when he was only 47 back in 1986. The letter from the hospital about the organ donation recipients was really special. My mom reading it to us kids & it was good to imagine a part of him giving life to so many. Thank you for sharing

I'm having a hard time getting past the part of her family telling her to get over it and move on and that she's using his death as a crutch. I'm SO angry at her family rn!

I’m an OR nurse and being in procurement cases is the most amazing and humbling thing I’ve seen. It’s a wonderful gift to give to others. It was an honor for me to be with those patients until the very end, making sure they were treated with dignity and care.

If you are prepared to accept an organ, you should be fully prepared to donate them,if you can,it’s that simple

As a liver recipient…I think of my donor hero and their family Every. Single. Day. We grieve for them and will never ever forget them. There is no amount of thanks that is ever seems enough.💚

my motto since I found out about being donor when I was a young teen was and is, "Scoop me out and give it to someone who needs it, just give the husk back to bury. what am I gonna do with organs when I'm dead anyway?"

I've been waiting for a second kidney transplant for 11 years. (I'm a very difficult, high PRA match) and my life literally depends on the kindness of strangers. God bless her and her husband. 🥰

I'm so sad this woman's family is not supporting her. Grief is not linear. Steve's final act was so generous and compassionate but he's still gone. That letter was so respectful and considerate. 🥺

If anyone here is thinking about being a living donor, consider it! I donated 60% of my liver and it will forever be the coolest thing I’ve ever done. Almost eight years out and my dad is the healthiest he’s ever been 💚

My husband received a kidney transplant 30 days after our wedding. It’s been the biggest blessing to him and our family. We continue to pray for the family of the deceased donor every day. That young woman made a huge impact in my husbands life. May blessing be poured back onto her family.

I received a donation from someone one month ago. I’m ashamed because the pen and paper has sat on my night stand and I don’t know how to thank someone for such a gift. 😔

My sister was a corneal transplant recipient. She can watch her kids grow and see beauty due to that person selflessness.

Someone close to me was an organ donor. She helped 57 different procedures. I had no idea there were so many different things that people desperately needed that could come from organ donation. It’s an incredible gift.

I've seen medical people on here say not to be a donor because if you are they will ensure you are unalived faster

My husband was a nurse, he passed from a brain aneurysm, his donations gave sight to two women. Skin grafts for a burn victim, bone grafts for a woman in chronic pain. So many I can’t even count. I still get letters from grateful recipients.

My health history makes donation all but impossible, so I’ve considered research. Brain tumor, MS, endometriosis that went up to my diaphragm.
