@brookeraybould: Travel day to a ski resort we’ve never been to: Beaver Creek. An easy flight from DFW to Vail, and we were excited to arrive (for the first time!) at Beaver Creek Resort. Why Beaver Creek? It’s a lower-key, higher-end resort that feels private, calm, and incredibly manageable for families. A gated village, excellent ski school, wide groomed runs, walkable dining, and built-in activities for kids. Luxury without the stuffiness. Ease without sacrificing quality. Travel day itself? Surprisingly smooth — minus the usual morning chaos of hoping we packed everything and making it to the airport on time (we did). The airline initially separated our seats, but a reminder that parents with young kids need to sit together and it was immediately fixed. Always speak up! The flight was easy. Lots of snacks (snackle boxes for the win), Nintendo Switch Lites (we allow on the plane ONLY) and happy kids, who generally know how to travel. Cal napped, the boys crushed it, and before we knew it, we landed. We touched down in Colorado to crisp air and minimal snow at Eagle County Regional Airport (it is stunning), grabbed our Suburban, and headed up the mountain. Driving through the Beaver Creek Resort gates, past the World Cup ski flags, we arrived at The Pines Lodge, a family-friendly, ski-out spot with on-site rentals and Grouse Mountain Grill right downstairs. Skis picked up, bags dropped, and excitement high for our first day on the mountain. Always watch my IG stories for the real behind the scenes moments!
