Lately I’ve been sorting my sample libraries not like drums>snares>files but now based on genres so like house>drums>snares>files. I find this to make it soooo much easier to find good sound selection quickly once you got it set up

I agree! Gainstaging is more of an analog thing. Different ohm ampere volt signal and not getting too much noise. You don’t really have to worry about it with plugins even though plugs also have a sweetspot but it’s not as sensitive imo.
