@letsbetechs: Walk-in cooler getting too cold! Here is another Heatcraft Quick Response system. Pretty quick diagnostic, pretty quick repair. This information is in the installation and operation manual for Heatcraft Quick response and can be found on their website. We test the electronic expansion valve (EEV) and determine it was bad, and we see the symptoms of when they are bad. #hvac #hvacapprentice #hvactechnician #hvacr #refrigerationtech
Those beacon units suck at what point do you just rip it out and put all mechanical components in or a ke2

Good diagnosis watch out for the cables to though I personally have had 4 or 5 bad cables and the the drive motor was good.

if you put that board into test mode it will cycle that stator opening closed three times you don't have to power cycle it

Had a beacon system on a vault cooler at 7/11 3 Evaps 1 master and 2 slaves on a multi unit condenser. What a nightmare to trouble shoot

We have a mix of beacon 2 and intelligen. Those exvs and defrost sensors were our most common failures.

This video is what I needed to know. Compressor kept icing up even with clean clear sight glass , I typically don’t work on units with EEV but this helps a whole lot . Thanks for the video

My OPINION, EEV’s should not be used as a pump down device even if they’re pump down rated. I think they should always have a PDS in front of them.
