as a Sen parent myself of a non verbal child... the hardest part for me is coming home from a long day at work, looking forward to seeing my girl, to walk through the door and she doesn't have that excitement to see me, sitting there watching them do their own thing because they want to do it alone. trying to sit next to her or give her a cuddle before bed and she pushes you away because she likes her own personal space. nothing prepares you for the emotional rollercoaster of having a Sen child and the difficulties they face. but those difficulties are the easy part for us after a while. the lack of interaction can be heart breaking sometimes but we carry on because one day she will surprise me and Be excited when I come home from work and that will mean everything to me in the end

I have always had these powers but got bullied, judged and misunderstood by school pupils, college pupils and adults in working environments plus relationships I have been in. It all gradually made me stronger, stubborn and independent though. All those people did also emotionally scar me. Then finally it was picked up till 10 years ago in September that I am autistic so I embrace it now to finally know who I am, do things differently and am definitely learning to be me

This hits deep. I’ve just had to deregister my boy (8) from school because even when he himself begged for help it was nowhere. Nobody took notice, nobody noticed his self harm, nobody cared when he shut down and became so withdrawn he wouldn’t speak. They were happy because he wasn’t disruptive, because he didn’t scream and shout, he sat in a corridor and bounced a ball off a wall. They were happy for him to do that, because he wasn’t causing a problem. My heart hurts for all of our little ones, this world is a shit one for them.

Love this 🙏 my girl my biggest inspiration 🥰 she’s shaped me to a better version of myself 👏🏻 and led me to want to help other SEN children & parents I created a children book for awareness and a journal for those who struggle to express out loud to be able write there thoughts and help us parents to understand their emotions while juggling our own both books available on Amazon if helps one child & family to feel heard & understood the purpose was served 💗 I’ve donated copies to local schools & support services and families who have reached out who children suffer with selective mutism and the struggles of autism /adhd 🤗 once people stop trying to get children to fit in our world and we realise the world a better place when we just fit into the theirs 💗 we got this 🙏

I think my little boy has it and that is completely fine but I’m so scared we have such a cruel world, I also need to learn to understand it as he’s my first and everything is so new he’s only 2 but he shows so many signs and there quite big ones. Just wanna understand my boy and help him and I want him to know he’s perfect how he is 😓
