@stephcrac: I have a history of having what I’m 98% sure is a vasovagal response. It’s been triggered by medical related stuff, standing too long, and getting overheated… But I’ve never actually fully passed out until last night (I think I have but never had proof) I usually can get my body to relax and calm down with deep breathing laying with my legs up, or sitting with my knees to my chest and keeping my head down but this time it wasn’t working.. it was scary. I don’t think I had a seizure as the body can have convulsive movements when briefly deprived of oxygen when fainting. I did mention this to my doctor at my last appt, and he sort of brushed it off but referred me to a cardiologist for a heart calcium test which I still need to schedule. Does anyone else experience this? Any tips or suggestions? Sharing because I know this is said to be common #vasovagalsyncopeawareness #passingout #cometoworkwithme #dispatcher #dispatchersoftiktok
I’d get checked for dysautonomia. Both of my daughters have similar issues and it took years to get this diagnosis.

I work in cardiology. You should definitely get a heart monitor to look for arrhythmias or pauses. Doesn’t always mean anything serious is going on but should definitely help get things crossed off the list.

This happening while sitting is not as common. Do you wear anything that monitors your heart rate? Trying to rule out PSVT. I’m not a doctor but my family has experience with this

I have vasovagal syncope and I have passed out a lot from sitting! But I also have POTS and several triggers set off my VS. I been dealing with it for over 20 years now, and it’s getting worst the older I’m getting. Please don’t let your doctor brush you off.

My daughter has vasovagal syncope. Her primary trigger is sudden nausea, often right before vomiting. She’s been instructed to lie down and elevate her feet to help restore blood flow to the brain, and this does help most times.

This is so scary to watch Steph!! And if I know u, u kept working didn’t u. Goodness!! Did it hurt when u touched ur incision? Pain induced ? If not I’d look into POTS as well. Keep and eye on ur heart rate and b/p. A good way to test for it is to see if ur HR jumps significantly from sitting to standing.

My daughter has vasovagal syncope. She triggers over numerous things and has to have a special plan at school. Then she remains ill the rest of the day after an episode. This is a real thing and I’m sorry you deal with it

my daughter and I both have Vasovagal Syncope. Different triggers. I've definitely passed out several times while sitting, usually in the corner of the bathroom floor. My daughter's is triggered more by pain and stress. I go limp, she has the seizure like stretch and shake. Both have been dx by cardio. she had the entire work up because we thought it was seizures.

As someone with congenital heart arrhythmia and who has a sister with vasovagal syncope- it’s weird to me this happened when you were just sitting and not appearing to have any emotional/ anxious trigger. I’d gently recommend you try and see a cardiologist and get a holter monitor for a few days ❤️

As a chronically ill person with mutiple diagnoses I don’t understand this . You know medical things trigger it so why would you touch your stomach at work to rule something out medical? Makes no sense to me
