This homemade cough syrup uses traditional ingredients that helps soothe a sore throat and acts as a natural cough suppressant that reduces inflammation and thins mucus. Recipe: 1/4 red onion 4-5 cloves (peel removed) 10 sprigs thyme 2 sticks cinnamon 2 star anise 1/2 honey (enough to fully cover ingredients) Lemon juice (from 1 lemon) . . Place all ingredients into a small mason jar and stir ( I used 4 oz jar) Let this steep for 12-24 hours at room temperature.
