The thing is in Islam is that men and women don’t have 100% the same rights. No men have a right to mehr, no men have a right to their spouse’s money. Men are not favoured in Islam and there is a lot of of misogyny in a lot of Muslim countries which is horrible however Islam and feminism differ, if there was a country that based laws on feminism and a country that based its laws on Islam, the two countries would have major differences that’s why people say the two aren’t compatible.

I live in the West, and if my basic rights, like voting or education were taken away, I would protest. Those are fundamental rights. That’s why many Muslim women can relate to parts of feminism: we want our rights protected. In many Western countries, we currently have more rights and opportunities than in some Muslim majority countries.

nice video, you make rly good points, but I disagree a bit. Feminism started as a secular movement rooted in a different metaphysics to ours, so they operate on their own definitions of "the good", "harm", "equality", etc. For e.g. one of its pushes is economic equality as sameness of outcomes, and in Islam that framework doesn’t simply carry over: men receive double inheritance in some cases than women because the family-order is built around defined duties, where financial obligation falls onto men, so men are obligated to spend their inheritance on their wives. Feminism compeletly undermines this and our ethical-legal architecture I think a better approach is Muslim women fighting (a) for their God-given rights that have been denied in practice, (b) against cultural and societal norms that oppress them, and (c) further protections and right using Islam’s own tools (societal customs, public interst, removing harm), without accepting secular liberal dogma. We can fight for muslim women's rights without importing a foreign metaphysics. In the end we have different sources of normativity, and ours is correct because Islam is true.
