I thought vet nursing was going to be forever for me. I’m now at a crossroads because I have no idea what to do… I’d love to keep nursing but the industry isn’t getting better and the toll it’s taken on my body and mind isn’t getting any easier

I left and became quality assurance for medical devices. But I’m still a tech part time because I couldn’t leave it completely!

Finding out now. 12 years later. Youfind you have other skills you don’t use. Baking dog treats is looking like an option. And writing/ organizing for a group.

I’d be farming at home full-time instead. Vet nursing gives me a break from home - during lambing you will go days or weeks without having a meaningful conversation with a human! VNing gives me sanity.

I originally studied animal biology but realised money isn’t great and I worried as I was young so I went and become a makeup artist for Bobbi brown traveling they meeting celebrities but my heart was always in animal care- 6 years later I decided to become a SVN and I’m just finshing 1st year 🥰🥰🥰

Literally get asked this on the reg and I’m like I don’t know, it’s more than a job it’s a personality so that’s why it’s so hard to venture into something else xx

At one point I thought about doing something related to forensics. Sometimes I still think maybe I should have gone that route instead.

I ran my own business doing hair for 13 years. Then I worked on a ranch with large animal for 1 year. Now I’m almost a year into small animal and can’t imagine doing anything different.

I am already a qualified automotive spare parts tech prior to being a vet nurse. The pay was worse. I’ve also done admin, hospitality, retail so have plenty of options.
