from a cold sore girly, Lysine and acidophilus is the best way to go! acidophilus is a probiotic and it has helped me so much i take 6 the first day i have a cold sore and then 2 in the morning 2 at night until it gets better, also instead of those patches use pimple patches works so freaking amazing i just use the star pimple patches and i’ll use them at night and then let it breathe for a couple hours and then i use another one. i’ve been getting cold sores since 7th grade and this “routine” is the best thing that’s helped me so maybe it’ll help you hopefully!

I blink and get one. 😂😩 Unbelievable. I take valtrex… Abreva… lysine.. thanks to whoever kissed me as an infant! ….. stop kissing babies!! 😩

I think it looks “worse” because that’s technically the next stage in the “healing “ process . You get the lil bump and then the blisters and then the scab and then etc etc .. so maybe it speeds the process along

so I know everyone says this but I have trial and errored every (reasonable) hack - valtrex and also 100% acetone… when it’s in the first stages dry it out as much as possible and then once FULLY scabbed u can start moisturizing it to try and avoid scarring

I haven’t see anyone recommend campho phenique. I use this as soon as I recognize a cold sore and it helps it dry out soooo fast! It’s my go to for sure 100% better than abreva.

Same. Tried the patch and woke up to it even bigger. I think, for me, it may have helped it spread. Ugh.

I use those but I only wear it for the twelve hours take them off and put abreva which is a cold sore cream on for the night and wipe it off in the morning and repeat

so i’ve used the patches for a while, i also have a huge one rn. the patch never makes mine bigger, but they really do work for me at least. my outbreak is very similar to yours right now but ive had such good luck, its just hard with super big painful outbreaks like rn they get all gross after 4-6 hours and i have to change them but i love that it covers it up at least

Yes, mine did the same thing. It was so big and ugly. I regret putting my patch. I think it made it worse.
