I spent my teen years fantasizing about marrying and having kids with my then-gf. When we broke up the desire for kids instantly vanished and I realized I was treating it as the default thing that you just do, and that I didn't actually want that for myself. 🫢

It was so small that I’ve only realized it in hindsight: “(married) We have until I’m 35 to really make up my mind.” 35 came and went without kiddos. If you choose not to decide, you’ve still made a choice. And I picked right 💜

That’s exactly what happened to me, and that feeling was only reinforced after I found my now husband. I don’t want to share him with anyone . I love being the center of his world, and he’s more than okay with that. We both knew from the start that we didn’t want children, and that hasn’t changed. What has changed is how deep our devotion to each other and our relationship has grown. We want to keep choosing each other and keep focusing on us. I know some people might call that selfish, but to me it’s actually selfless. I never want to bring a child into the world if there’s even a chance I’d resent them. Loving each other fully and honestly is the best choice for us.

i don’t think it was the first time but i resonated so hard with kitty when i was watching oppenheimer. like i saw myself in her and it was the first time i ever related to a mother. it really solidified that i do not want to be one.

I was in 5th grade and was having nightmares about giving birth. My mom was pregnant and having complications.I didnt know how any of that worked, I thought it just happened. When I found out that I had a choice to not go through any of that I knew from that day I was never having kids.

The first time I ever truly babysat. Hard no for me. I can’t imagine having to do THAT daily? I do not want to have to entertain a child all day long. Truly there is nothing that sounds worse to me.
