Yes ma’am! You can push TPA & DNase into a CT to help release a loculated effusion or empyema! Typically only done in ICU.

I taught dosage. The number of times I wrote “what would giving the patient 200 pills look like? Does that make sense.” And then in my 1st semester senior level Peds class the students were arguing a dosage answer. They wanted to give 4 OUNCES of ibuprofen. The answer was 4 ml. I brought in an entire bottle of ibuprofen- 4 ounces to show them what this looked like. Then I worked out how many milligrams 4 ounces was. My evals that semester said I was “aggressive and mean” about med calculations.

My first med error as a baby nurse was giving the wrong dose of antidepressant….i was supposed to cut the pill in half and forgot, followed the med error protocol, called the doc and he said…”well you made the patient happier now.” 🤣

Why do people not trace their lines????? It’s a safety check you should be doing EVERY TIME you give IV meds and when assessing your patients??????!!!!!

New hire hooked up a pregnant patients EPIDURAL line to her peripheral IV. We had to call the code team. Luckily mom and baby were okay!

not major but my surgeon cut my son's face during my csection. he was facing up and got knicked. didnt even make it out of me before getting his first scar. it was tiny but still. like, that was brand new! lol

My night shift partner was very upset when I relieved her in the morning that a patient 💩 allllll night and what doctor would order 2 dulcolax supps at bedtime!? I checked the order and it was supposed to be 2 tabs!!! I couldn’t stop laughing!

I was fresh out of my c-section, and they give you pain suppository here. the nurse knew I worked at the hospital, and asked if I wanted to put it in myself, I said yes, she gave it to me. 15 minutes later, I was dying in pain and shitting before my legs even worked. she gave me glycerin.

A nurse that was off for medical leave for surgery came back with new emr so she was with another nurse to help. She was supposed to give 5 units of humalog…. She gave 50 units. And said they both verified the dose prior to administering…… patient bg was 12
