Harle is overseeing the trial of Adrian Gonzales, a former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District officer who was present at Robb Elementary on May 24, 2022, when an 18-year-old gunman killed 19 children and two teachers. The trial was moved to Nueces County due to extensive publicity in Uvalde County. Gonzales faces 29 counts of child endangerment or abandonment related to his response that day. Judge Harle has served on the bench for nearly four decades and is currently in his third term as presiding judge, following a reappointment by Governor Greg Abbott in September 2025.
