PAUSE to read the details if you need @Marcy and @Parker Anderson have shared the most detailed stories of this happening to them I’ve seen on their pages (ty!) and they’ve said the official word is clerical error/wrongly submitted forms so that’s the info we can go off of. and they’re getting support to fix what they can I would be a wreck if this had happened to me in a different country. At the very least knowing that it has happened to other people in the past, you’re not alone, and what you can do can reduce panic. I care about travelers being informed and having the best opportunity to have the best travel experience possible bc travel is such a privilege 
 
1. Call the State Department National Passport Information Center - 1-888-874-7793 2. Call the local U.S. embassy or consulate
3. Reach out to your congressperson - https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member 4. it’s always good to have travel insurance. just in case.

I hope the possibility of this happening to anyone else is fixed ASAP
