Brian Bonsal, I feel bad for the way his life turned out I really do…but he was not forced to pick that needle up, no one had a gun to his head…his life is not a “cautionary tale” it’s an example of how easy it is to pick up a spike and make the CHOICE to start using! He was OWNED by a substance grown in Afghanistan by a CHOICE he made because he just “couldn’t handle” the pressure…there are many many former child stars who also went on to become successful out of the spotlight! Now the pressures are used as an EXCUSE! He didn’t “battle” substance abuse, he started and CHOSE the fight!!

Last I checked, 100% of addictions starts as MAKING THE CHOICE to pick up the needle or whatever it is that starts substance addiction! HE MADE THE CHOICE! No one had a gun held to his head! I feel bad for the guy but the choice was ALL ON HIM! He made that conscious decision to pick up the spike! There are also plenty of former child actors who did NOT take that CHOICE!
