Smoky BBQ Cheddar Chicken Breasts While organizing my recipe box on a quiet Sunday afternoon and thinking about my sister Gail, I decided to whip up a batch of our favorite barbecue chicken breasts, and the sweet, smoky aroma filling the kitchen brought back the happiest memories of our weekend cookouts. GET YOUR COOK ON with NancyG! Featuring tender, juicy chicken breasts coated in a rich, caramelized BBQ spice rub and blanketed in gooey, melted cheddar cheese, this mouthwatering dish delivers a smoky, savory, and irresistibly juicy flavor experience in every single bite. written by NancyG The Recipe Collector Recipe Basics Yield: 4 to 6 servings Measurements: USA standard (rounded up) Ingredients & Instructions Ingredient List: 2 pounds chicken breasts 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon smoked paprika 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup barbecue sauce 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded Detailed Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to create the rub. Rub each chicken breast all over with olive oil, then coat thoroughly with the spice mixture on all sides. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush generously with the barbecue sauce. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked through and the sauce is caramelized. Top each chicken breast with the shredded cheddar cheese and return to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm. Chef’s Notes & Nutrition Chef's notes by NancyG For an extra layer of crunch and flavor, you can top the melted cheese with crispy bacon bits right before serving. You can easily substitute Monterey Jack cheese for the cheddar if you prefer a milder, meltier flavor profile. Nutritional Facts (Per Serving): Calories: 420 Fat: 22 g Protein: 46 g Carbs: 12 g #TheRecipeCollector #NancyGCookOn! #fyp #BBQChicken #ComfortFood
