It’s tempting to think that, at altitude, the minus 60 degrees air might cool the engine. Well, yes, somewhat, but air also heats up when it gets compressed.

Its not just the metal, its ceramic coating on it and the relatively cooler air (still around 600c) flowing through the blade.
