I would never do a block on a patient under general anesthesia, you can cause permanent nerve damage since patient can’t scream if your intraneural. Only do them with patient under light sedation.

I was a special operations Medic and we would do a lot of foot and ankle surgery with a podiatrist and in my training we never use that much marcane or lidocaine the superficial wheel is fine The nerve blocks fine but so much am I incorrect but our training that that much anesthetic could have a tourniquet effect around the ankle That's what my training would be so I wouldn't have given probably half as much as you're giving so am I wrong or is our training wrong that I received and I was very experienced that. let me know. of course no epinephrine I'm just talking about the tourniquet effect that local anesthetic can cause when you try to wheel around just that volume I'm speaking of.

You didn’t need Lidocaine. By the time you scrub, drape, time out and cut, Bupivacaine block would be in effect

I had hip labral tear surgery nearly 2 weeks ago. I was given nerve block and I still feel numb along the right side of my thigh. Do you have any idea how long this will last? It is quite a weird feeling

When using different local anesthetics, knowing there is a maximum dose for each, do you calculate the total as one maximum dose or give the maximum dose of each local anesthetic?

Next pls! I’m having hip surgery with revision #3, but now my ankle is hurting and swelling, is it Achilles? Tendon, twisted ankle? It hurts to even put my feet on my bed without a soft pillow, hurts so much. I’m afraid to tell my surgeon I have yet another prob… what do I do next?
