The fumble the built up of friends to LOVERS so bad in the movie. For Alex I can clearly pinpoint him falling for her in Canada when he looked at poppy with buck but we don’t get that moment with poppy . Maybe when she looked at him while she was with Julian in New Orleans? But it doesn’t hold a candle to her internal monologue of how she fell for him in the book
