@jacob_desio: The Stranger Things season 5 ending left a lot of fans upset and divided over “conformity gate”. A lot of the fandom, unhappy with the ending, thinks that what we saw is a false ending and that there will be another episode showing that the main characters are trapped in a fake world created by vecna and that they will break out but what if there is no new episode and they are trapped. It’s entirely possible they lost the fight and that’s why we see all of the inconsistencies and continuity errors in the plot and why the endings for some of the characters don’t entirely make sense. They might be trapped and that’s just the end, no happy ending, justice doesn’t prevail. I think the thing that annoys me with this is just how not scary the last season was. The end of inception is unsettling because you know that he could be stuck in a dream or not. With stranger things 5 a lot of the season was just boring and so many things felt unearned. They could have made it unsettling but then we think we get a happy ending with a question mark. The truth is the ending fails cuz it’s narratively boring. The characters that once had a lot of depth felt 2 dimensional and it as a piece of art it feels like corporate slop.
