Showing all the hidden gems along the way ✨️💎 🏞 This amazing hidden gem is located one hour and thirty nine minutes from downtown Chicago and just minutes away from Starved Rock State Park 🌊 Illinois is full of "Dry falls" meaning the best time to visit is Spring or after a heavy rainfall. This park is no exception ⚠️ I highly suggest if you go in the spring to wear boots. The water levels get extremely high and your hiking boots will just not cut it. We all left with wet feet. One of my kids even slipped and fell in. It was a mess! 🤭😅 It was absolutely worth it though! Free to the public with a large parking area and restrooms, no other amenities 🤳 Don't forget to save and share with your adventure friends 🗣 Please remember to always practice leave no trace. Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time. Pack out what you pack in, stay on marked trails & respect the wildlife.
