In 2008 I wanted to go backpacking there during college and my grandma didn’t let me because sex tourism. I was 18 and gay. Sadly this stereotype has been around (I didn’t even know of that stereotype then!!)

thailand did that to itself. the sex tourism there is so unregulated. the sad thing they cant do much about it bc its an aging society and has to rely on tourism
