I did sort of the opposite. Started with journalism (super intense, bad pay), then moved to marketing (not intense at all, medium pay, I was content but was not thriving). Decided I needed more money (I have 2 daughters) and something more challenging, moved to big law. My weeks are now 50-70 hours long, it's super intense, but I love it! I'm also approaching 40 so my social life already looked different. I think the issue is going into a super intense career you're not sure it's well suited to you when you're super young. The good thing is that now we can have more than one career path. It's ok to change and try something else.

I know you said it isn’t about what path is better but… it’s so clear the marketing one is for you you look so much healthier and more alive. I’m in the same spot rn in my first year post grad in busy season and I have quite literally been told o can’t even take a 30 min walk (in place of my lunch break) unless I want to make that time up later when everyone else logs off. I’ve woken up with a worse headache and more swollen eyes each day so far this week and have until may of this. I know this isn’t for me, no amount of money I’m making here is worth being a shell of a human being for half of every year
