Unfortunately, Google very intentionally coupled this setting in with the same setting that divide your inboxes into the "Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates" tabs, which has actually been really helpful for filtering emails for almost a decade now... If you turn the "smart features" off because AI, you will have to deal with the messy inbox again... I wish they would provide separate, decoupled settings for this, but alas, they knew what they were doing... I can't deal with that mess...

I turn off the smart feature settings and my emails went from 10 unread emails to 19,000. Beware!

If you all are trying to do this from your phones, you can’t!! Open up a search window then you’ll have to lookup the desktop version to be able to do this. Just type in desktop Gmail version. You’re Welcome. ☺️

Modern day life is just easier to not have anything to hide. We are being tracked on every platform everywhere. Too overwhelming to consistently be looking for privacy stuff to turn on/off.

Being concerned about google seeing your personal information when companies have breaches all the time and nothing is done about it other than “here you have a year of credit monitoring” your info is already exposed besides they can see your emails regardless of what you do.
