Starfish can only hold their breath for about 30 seconds. Taking them out and handling them can very much end their life.

A man in Oxford, England grabbed a swan (protected wildlife!) by the neck at the river to raise it to his face level for a selfie. I yelled at him and he dropped the swan, who looked confused and wobbly. I told him to get out of there and he started walking towards the train station. I followed behind him until he got on the train to leave. STAY ANGRY. Humans can be horrid. 😡

I don’t think people realize starfish are like FISH. They aren’t FLAPPING like a fish out of water, but they are experiencing the same type of slow death fish out of water do.

I often imagine some giant being visiting earth, picking up humans, poking them, toying with them, and then tossing them aside. Maybe put a few in a bucket and take them home, put them in a cage.

They don’t care. The people who do this, simply don’t care. It’s all about them, their world, and their wants. It’s horrible, I know. But they really, truly don’t care unless it serves them in some way. It’s sick. Thank you for at least trying to save that little buddy. I hope they survive it. 🥺

Y’all need to call authorities because there are often fines for tampering with wildlife and they’re not pretty. Record your evidence then call. People need to stop getting away with harming wildlife :(
