For example, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says that divination, sorcery, and witchcraft are detestable to God. Also, Galatians 5:19-21 lists witchcraft (sorcery) among works of the flesh that Christians should avoid. The earth itself is part of God’s creation. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Creation is not meant to be worshipped or spoken to as a spiritual power. Instead, we are to worship the Creator. Some people “speak to the earth” believing it will bring blessings, protection, or power. But the Bible teaches that protection and blessing come from God alone. Psalm 121 2 says, My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” So from a biblical perspective: Praying to or invoking the earth as a spirit power is not supported. Witchcraft and occult practices are condemned. Believers are encouraged to pray directly to God through faith.
